Single item and furniture pickups in Sydney's CBD

The sofa the new one replaced. The mattress that owes you nothing. The fridge that died on a Tuesday. Most of what we move isn't a whole apartment, it's one stubborn thing that can't leave the building on its own.

Why one item is a real job in the city

In a house suburb, a dead couch waits on the verge for the council truck. In a tower it waits in your living room, because the chute takes nothing bigger than a bag, the garbage room isn't allowed to hold furniture, and there is no verge. The council's free pickup can take it eventually, if your building's weekly slot isn't already spoken for and the item qualifies, but that's a shared queue, not a plan. We wrote up exactly what council takes free so you can make that call honestly.

When you'd rather it just left today: that's this service. One booking, one fixed price for the visit, and the item carried through the building the way the building likes it done, padded lift, protected corridors, no scrape marks on level three.

The usual suspects

  • Sofas and lounges, including the ones that only got in because someone took the feet off first. We bring tools.
  • Mattresses and bed bases. Mattresses are a regulated recycling stream, so they ride separately and get handled properly, not folded into general waste.
  • Fridges, washers, dryers. White goods go to facilities equipped to deal with refrigerant gas and metals. More on that on the e-waste and white goods page.
  • Desks, wardrobes, flat-pack that won't flat-pack again. We'll disassemble what needs it.
  • The after-renovation stragglers: an old vanity, offcuts, a bathtub in the second bedroom. Renovation waste is exactly what the council pickup excludes, and exactly what we don't.

How fast

Single items are the easiest jobs to slot between bigger ones, so they book quickly. Same-day where we can, honestly told when we can't. Say the suburb and the item in your enquiry and you'll get a straight answer.

Send what needs to go and when the keys go back. We'll come back with one fixed price, agreed before we lift a thing, and we'll sort the goods lift with your building manager.
